strain gauge applications

DMS Applikationen
We apply professional strain gauges to workpieces supplied by our customers as well as to structures and constructions outside our lab.

We can also provide support in the selection of the right strain gauges well as advise on the position and orientation of the application point.
Our applications team is also able to apply high volumes of strain gauges in narrow time frames.

Materials:
Steel, aluminum, titanium, copper, cast iron, plastics, carbon fiber, composite materials, ceramics

Foil strain gauges up to 250°C
Consists of a plastic foil on which a meander is etched as a measuring grid. These are used in most application scenarios.

Weldable strain gauges up to 950°C
are for measuring deformation of hot parts such as exhaust systems, manifolds, boilers, pipes, etc.

Free filament gauges up to 1150°C
are used for components subject to especially high thermal and vibrational stress (e.g. turbines).

Calibration (stiffness calculation)
The stiffness of applied mechanical components is determined by simultaneously measuring an applied force and material deformation. Calibration along multiple axes includes calculation of a transfer matrix which takes non-linear deformation into account.

Ambient conditions
Operations in the most demanding ambient conditions are possible by using carefully planned protection measures: Spray water, pressurized water, hot oils, fuels, stone impact
